Simplicity with Embroidered Rose

Embroidered Rose

One of our gorgeous new stamp lines that premiered in July 17th, is our embroidered images. The Embroidered Rose is my favorite, but the collection contains several other amazing images. These stamps are amazing, to enable us to create very easy and elegant cards. The card I’m showing today is one of the quickest I’ve ever created and the image, Embroidered Rose is just one in several of our embroidered collection.

I selected the Buttercream card stock, which is a beautifully creamy off white, and layered it with a paper from our new collection, Romantic Journey. The deep blues are beautiful, and I chose Huckleberry Fusion ink as a good match to stamp the embroidered rose, and ink the edges of papers. The Embroidered Rose is stamped on a buttercream oval and adhered to the card with pop dots. The stem and leaves are stamped in Kiwi Splash and over stamped with Limeade.. The ovals are cut with our double oval dies.

This is such a simple image that it can be presented in many venues. It is wonderful as a celebration card, birthday, encouragement, sympathy, or one that you may give just to say hello. You may find all of the products used on this card at www.funstampersjourney.com/bloomsbysharon

Roses, of course can be found in almost any color, so with a different background, and color selection, you can change the entire appearance of the card. How about making a set of cards in a variety of colors as a special gift for someone. You could whip these out in no time, and embellish with a little bling. Tie together with a pretty ribbon and you have a lovely gift ready.

Bringing Paper to Life

With so many terrific stamps, debuting in our new 2017 Catalogue, it was hard to decide on one, but the Koi Dreams stood out as a great opportunity for Bringing Paper to Life. I started with a whipped cream card base and created a background on a second piece by spraying 4 different splashes. I love working with a variety of media and watch the colors blend together to create new tones, and hues. I stamped the Koi Fish with the ink, and then embossed with white embossing powder. Once cool, I painted the Koi with Citrus cooler silk, and later rubbed it off to create a texture look. I stamped the waterlily with Lavender fusion ink and cut out the fish and waterlily. You can tell I love bling; thus you will find lots of sparkle silk throughout the background, and the koi and lily. I added silver thread wrapped twice around the background and tied in a pretty bow. Sparkle drops were added in various areas of the background.

It’s always fun to work with sprays and silks because the results often surprise you. Our vast media options give so many opportunities for Bringing Paper to Life.

FSJ Convention 2017

I just returned from our annual Fun Stampers Journey convention and it couldn’t have been any more amazing. This year it was held at the Sheraton Grand in Chandler, Arizona. The resort is lovely, with several restaurants and unbelievable views.

The first day of convention, we were treated to a tour of the Journey Station and lavished with delicious goodies.

Due to the remarkable growth of Fun Stampers Journey, the space has been enlarged and decor radically changed. It is quite beautiful and we were invited to craft while we were there.

Later that afternoon we registered and received our gorgeous denim bags which held our convention information and the stamp sets we would be using at a later time.

In the evening we attended the first meeting where the theme of Dreams Happen, was presented in a beautiful video. And the moment came when we received our priceless new catalogues. The new line of products is beyond belief.

Day two was filled with awesome demos of the new products and an introduction to our new partnership of the Gel Press. What fun we will have with this. Would you believe that Richard has designed an FSJ only heart template gel press and we are the only company carrying the 8 1/2 by 11 inch size.

On Day three we attended several breakout sessions to help us with our business growth and creative endeavors. Our awards banquet was held that evening and as always impressed us with the sales and recruit growth for the past year.

Day four included another breakout session, where some of us learned some tips for doing videos. Yes, I’ll be trying some videos this summer. We were treated to several demos by fellow coaches as well as Journey Crew members. Richard shared with us his vision for the future and it was time to say our bittersweet goodbyes until next summer.

We stayed a few extra days to visit the local Outlet mall, as well as the casino. We enjoyed a nighttime cruise down the river by the resort and were awed by the full moon reflecting on the river. Every year we find Arizona to be a beautiful place to visit and while it is quite hot in June, it is worth it to enjoy the beautiful scenery and culture.

Birthday Game Card

Hi Fellow Crafters,

It’s a new year, and I’m ready to get serious about some really fun projects. I find it hard to think of fun and unique birthday cards for my older grandchildren. I was so excited when FSJ introduced a new stamp set called Birthday Game Card. It comes with a circle with pie shapes and cute phrases on the slices. They also offer spinners that can be used for the center section so that the card may be interactive.

I started with a piece of white whipped cream card stock and stamped the circle and cut it out. I chose deco paper from our line of Be Amazing and cut a rectangle for one of the card layers along with one of the pie shapes. I used paper from our neon color set to rest amp the circle and cut out various pie sections and arranged them on the white pie.

I chose neon papers in orange and lime for the card bases, and layered with white card stock and the deco card stock and finally the white pie. I inserted the spinner and pointed it toward the birthday phrase.

I decided to create envelopes with some of the deco paper, and hopefully the bright colors will impress some of the older grandchildren. This is a fun, Birthday Game Card, to create as there are so many choices for coordinating colors and paper.

May Flowers Blog Hop

May is such an amazing month, as we watch the sun give warmth to the earth and the flowers burst forth in a blaze of colors. It’s a time when some of us get out in the gardens to cultivate and manicure the newly blossomed beauty.

I selected a cute print from our Spring Parade paper collection and tied the Cool Pool color through using it for the card base, image base and ribbon. The coloring was done by using reinkers to fill in the pretty stamped image. The image base, you might notice has a perforated border around the outer rim. This is a trend you will find with the FSJ shape dies. In this oval die, there is a perforated die to match each ring. I love the effect it gives. I love being able to create a card with such of variety of products that compliment each other so well in color.
